This matter is handled in accordance with Letter No. 1130013831A, dated February 29, 2024, issued by the National Science and Technology Council (NSTC) (Attachment 1).

Eligibility for nominees of this award is limited to citizens of the Republic of China who are engaged in scientific and technological work in the fields of natural sciences and engineering, biological and agricultural sciences, medicine, or the humanities and social sciences. Candidates must have achieved exceptionally outstanding inventions or innovations, and their R&D result must have made significant, transformative, and creative contributions with major impact on the nation and society. For details, please refer to the Implementation Guidelines for the Executive Yuan Outstanding Science and Technology Contribution Award and the Ministry of Science and Technology Guidelines for the Selection of the Executive Yuan Outstanding Science and Technology Contribution Award (Attachments 2 and 3).

Application procedures for this award are as follows:

(1) Online application is required via the following website:

https://wiraap.nstc.gov.tw/IRAPortal/home/Home.aspx

Applicants must complete the upload of nomination materials by Monday, April 25, 2024. Instructions for using the online application system are provided in Attachment 4.

(2) Applicants seeking nomination through the University President, must first obtain recommendations from their respective department (institute) and college. By 5:00 PM on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, applicants shall submit one copy each of the University’s college/department award recommendation application form (Attachment 5) and the Outstanding Science and Technology Contribution Award recommendation letter (Attachment 6) to the department office. After consolidation by the department office, the materials will be forwarded to the Center for Teaching and Learning Development by April 11, 2024. Upon approval and official endorsement by the President, the documents will be returned to the applicant for upload to the original online application system.

(3) Electronic copies of all application materials should also be emailed to the contact person at ncku-award@ctld.ncku.edu.tw.
